Why Take this Program?
MEI's strategic leadership high school program challenges you to amp up your skills in becoming an effective leader. MEI's mentors and teachers challenge you academically, emotionally, and physically each day to draw the best out of you during the 50-day program. The Phys Ed aspect of the course will get you up early and engaging in full-body workouts. Mornings will consist of yoga, martial arts, and strength training while days will be spent walking and golfing top-rated golf courses. Montreal and Quebec City are ideal cities where you'll work in teams to complete our legendary aMEIzing Race challenge, and enjoy some of the best food and culture on the planet. Whether it's biking, hiking, or 'slicing' your way through this program, you'll find out more about yourself in 50-days than some people find out in a lifetime. Local guest golf pros help students "find their swing" and fine tune their game. Golf tournaments, special events, and guest speakers seek to deliver REAL experiences on each and everyday of the program.

How it Works
Each morning students join our instructors for a healthy breakfast and a directed golf lesson. Students also receive a business case-study in each location that deals with real-world scenarios and leadership challenges. Students discuss the day’s assignment in foursomes as they complete a round of golf—using their on-course time to brainstorm and develop solutions. After nine holes on the course, students meet for lunch with their business mentor who further advises students on their case study. Guest speakers from the business community will share their expertise and guide students with feedback on their group’s performance. Students spend afternoons golfing or participating in other activities, while evenings are filled with podcasts and fun games. Golf tournaments, special events, and business competitions deliver REAL life business experiences.

Program Preparation
Online Foundation Work
Muskoka
Days 1-9: Our adventure begins in Muskoka, the scenic wonderland of the near-north. Clublinks’ Rocky Crest and Lake Joseph courses have become legendary for their majestic beauty and top-rated facilities. Our morning routine combines a full-body workout and golf lessons to get your game up to par. Each morning you will be given a leadership case study to discuss during the round of golf. Each foursome will present their solutions during our afternoon debrief sessions guided by local business leaders who provide insights from their field of expertise. Afternoon English classes allow for group discussions of novel studies and biographical stories of business and sports leaders. Each of these courses offers its challenges, and students will improve on the golf course and in the classroom. Our final day in Muskoka culminates in a Stableford golf competition and a presentation of the students’ best creative writing pieces.

Montreal
Days 9-13: From Muskoka, we travel out of province to Montreal, where students reside in a french-infused city rich in music, fashion, and unique cuisine. Students balance their time on the course with discovering historic neighbourhoods like the Mile-End, the Plateau, and McGill University. Our daily leadership activities delve into the biographies of top athletes and global leaders that inspire and share their insights. After golf rounds and English tasks, students rejuvenate during free afternoons enjoying some of the best activities in the region, biking through boroughs that range from bohemian to Gothic revival, to climbing the famous Mont Royal. After a week in Montreal, we will discover why it is a top choice on ‘Cities I’ve Got to Visit’ lists.
Mont-Tremblant
Days 14-19: Our next location is Mont-Tremblant, to play Le Val de Lac and Le Maître du Mont—two world-class facilities of extraordinary charm. When we’re not golfing, we take advantage of the beautiful landscape and explore the region with long hikes and bike trails. Academically, we focus on improving formal writing skills and crafting exceptional pieces of writing that will have the students standing out from the rest. On our final day in Mont-Tremblant, we participate in one more golf tournament that incorporates leadership skills, friendly competition, and low golf scores!

Québec City
Days 19-25: We conclude our program with a stay in historic Québec City. It is here where we take a step back in time and visit Old Québec, a UNESCO world heritage site since 1985. We walk the cobblestone streets and admire the European architecture and world-famous Château Frontenac as we dine like locals and try out our rusty French skills on some unsuspecting locals! We wrap the course with a final tournament, where students pull together the skills they have learned from their many lessons and competitive rounds of golf. Québec City is also where students utilize the masterclasses, guest lectures, presentations, and personal experiences to showcase their English writing and presenting abilities. Our closing banquet and awards night makes our final evening in Québec City genuinely memorable and a wonderful finish to a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Return Home (Day 25)
Online Final Evaluation Week
After returning home, you will have time to complete additional research and pull together the work and insights you gained from your travel experiences. You will also complete culminating assignments and an online, interactive examination. MEI students and teachers have found this evaluation style enjoyable and the most authentic and thorough method to demonstrate what they have learned during the summer. Refer to the overview program calendar for more information.
